Flixly connects your text briefs to a curated image and short-video model set. ChatGPT uses the app listing; Codex uses the remote MCP connection. Flixly is an independent service, not an OpenAI product.
Open Flixly in ChatGPT
Flixly is a reviewed ChatGPT app, so there is nothing to paste and no developer mode to switch on. Open the listing, or search Flixly under Settings → Apps & Connectors.
Connect and approve
Choose Connect, sign in to Flixly, and approve the image and short-video access it asks for. No connector URL, no API key.
Hosted mode signs you in — no API key to copy or rotate. Disconnect any time from API keys.

What a hosted connection can access
Secure sign-in
Hosted connections use Flixly OAuth. You sign in on Flixly and approve access; you never paste your password or API key into the client.
Scoped account access
The connected app can browse the curated model details and estimated costs, read your available credit balance, submit image or short-video jobs, and poll their results. It cannot read passwords, payment details, or API-key values.
Your credits
Generations use your existing Flixly credits at the normal server-calculated price. The connection cannot change the charge or purchase credits for you.
History and retention
MCP jobs appear in your Flixly generation history. Generated output files are hosted for 30 days, so download anything you want to keep; history metadata may remain after the media expires.
To disconnect, remove Flixly from the client's app, plugin or connector settings and revoke its dedicated credential under Flixly Dashboard → Settings → API keys. Revocation stops future MCP access immediately.
How does MCP work?
MCP is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call outside tools. Connect Flixly once and ChatGPT can browse Flixly's curated v1 image-and-video set mid-conversation, submit one job, and follow that same job until the finished file appears in your chat.

How do I add the Flixly plugin to ChatGPT?
Open the Flixly app listing in ChatGPT, connect your Flixly account and approve access. Availability can depend on your account or workspace settings. Use the listing rather than legacy plugin instructions.
Can I use Flixly in OpenAI Codex?
Yes, through Flixly’s remote MCP server. Add the server with the Codex commands above and complete OAuth sign-in. This is a separate setup from connecting the ChatGPT app; it does not automatically install a Codex marketplace plugin.
Are generations included in my ChatGPT subscription?
No. Image and short-video generation uses your Flixly credits. Ask for the estimated credit cost and approve the job before generation. The MCP model set is narrower than the full Flixly website catalog.
