Kling 4.0 vs Kling 3.0 vs Seedance 2.5 vs Veo 3.1: Tested Side by Side
Same prompts, same settings, first results only. We tested Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1 on dialogue, rainy neon text and a car drift, with the clips, render times and a verdict for every use case.
TL;DR
In our test of the same three prompts at 8 seconds and 720p, Kling 4.0 followed camera directions most closely and, like Seedance 2.5, makes clips up to 30 seconds. Veo 3.1 was the fastest and most cinematic but misspelled sign text. Seedance 2.5 gave the most natural dialogue scene, and Kling 3.0 was the cheapest. All four spoke the test line exactly and made sound.
Short answer: in our side-by-side test, Kling 4.0 followed camera directions most closely and, like Seedance 2.5, makes shots up to 30 seconds in a single generation. Veo 3.1 was the fastest and gave the most cinematic action, but it misspelled sign text. Seedance 2.5 gave the most natural dialogue scene, and Kling 3.0 was the quickest Kling and the most affordable. All four spoke our test line word for word, and all four make video with sound.
We ran the same three prompts through all four models on Flixly on 22 October 2026: 8 seconds, 720p, 16:9, sound on. Every clip below is the first result, with no retries and no editing apart from adding labels. You can try any of them in the AI Video Generator.

Flixly shows the exact credit price for every setting before you generate. Of the four, Kling 3.0 costs the least per 8-second clip.
How we tested
- Same prompt, same settings: each prompt ran once on every model at 8 seconds, 720p, 16:9, with sound turned on (Kling 3.0's "Sound effects" switched on, Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1 with audio on; Kling 4.0 always makes sound).
- First result only: no rerolls, no cherry-picking, no upscaling.
- Measured, not guessed: render times are from submit to finished video on Flixly. We checked every dialogue clip with a speech-to-text transcript and frame by frame for lip movement.
Each test has two players: a muted grid for comparing the picture, and a reel that plays the four clips one after another with their sound.
Test 1: dialogue and lip sync
Close-up in a warm, quiet cafe. A woman in her thirties looks up from her coffee and says softly, "You came back. I didn't think you would." Soft window light, shallow depth of field, gentle cafe ambience.
All four said the line exactly, in a soft voice, starting about two seconds in, and in all four the mouth moves with the words. The differences are in direction:
- Kling 4.0 framed a medium shot rather than the close-up we asked for. The delivery is calm and restrained, and the light and setting are the most natural.
- Kling 3.0 gave a true close-up, with the most visible change of expression, from looking down to a small, hopeful smile.
- Seedance 2.5 felt the most like a real film scene: a close-up with a busy café moving in the background and steady eye contact.
- Veo 3.1 had her sip the coffee first and then smile as she speaks. It is the warmest, most "ad-like" result, though she looks off to the side rather than at someone.
Test 2: rain, reflections and on-screen text
At water level, a small paper boat floats down a rain-filled city gutter at night, past a glowing neon sign that reads "OPEN 24H". Raindrops ripple the water and the neon reflects in the puddles. Sound of rain and soft piano.

- Text: Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 all spelled OPEN 24H correctly. Veo 3.1's sign is the brightest, but the P is broken, so it reads closer to "OFEN 24H".
- Kling 4.0 kept the camera low on the water and let the pink neon spill across the puddle. The boat drifts away from the camera, as a real boat in a current would.
- Kling 3.0 made the cleanest reflection: the sign is mirrored correctly in the water, back to front.
- Seedance 2.5 stacked the sign on two lines and made the deepest night street, with bokeh lights in the distance.
- Veo 3.1 had the heaviest rain and the biggest boat, with the busiest, most cinematic street.
All four added rain sound and piano.
Test 3: fast action and camera movement
A vintage red sports car drifts through a wet mountain hairpin at dusk, spraying water into the air. A low drone shot swoops alongside the car, then rises over the bend to reveal the valley. Engine roar and tires screeching on wet asphalt.
- Kling 4.0 followed the camera direction most closely: one continuous move that starts low beside the car and rises over the bend until the whole valley and the winding road are in view. The drift itself is mild, more a fast corner with spray than a slide.
- Kling 3.0 made an open roadster and followed it closely, then cut to a high view of a sweeping hairpin instead of rising into it. The car corners cleanly, with little drifting.
- Seedance 2.5 did both halves of the prompt: a real slide with water spraying off the tires in sunset light, then a rise to a misty valley. By the end of the rise the car has almost left the frame.
- Veo 3.1 made the most dramatic drift, with thick tire smoke and a golden sky, but the camera stays behind the car and only lifts a little at the end.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose Kling 4.0 for story scenes and ads that need one long, continuous shot (up to 30 seconds), exact camera moves, or several reference images of the same character. It is the slowest of the four, so plan for a few minutes per clip.
- Choose Veo 3.1 when you want a quick, cinematic 4 to 8 second shot and the scene has no important text.
- Choose Seedance 2.5 for talking scenes, long clips up to 30 seconds, and projects with many image, video or audio references.
- Choose Kling 3.0 for drafts and high-volume work: it is the cheapest of the four, renders in about three minutes, and also goes up to 4K.
A good workflow is to test a prompt on Kling 3.0 or Veo 3.1 first, then make the final version on Kling 4.0 or Seedance 2.5. You can switch models in the AI Video Generator without retyping your prompt, and start from a photo in image to video or from several pictures in reference to video.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is better, Kling 4.0 or Veo 3.1?▾
It depends on the shot. In our same-prompt test, Kling 4.0 followed camera directions more closely, spelled on-screen text correctly and can make clips up to 30 seconds. Veo 3.1 rendered about three times faster and gave the most cinematic action, but it is limited to 8 seconds and misspelled a neon sign.
Is Kling 4.0 better than Kling 3.0?▾
For long shots and precise camera work, yes: Kling 4.0 makes clips up to 30 seconds instead of 15, adds reference-to-video from up to 10 images and always generates sound. Kling 3.0 is still the cheaper and faster choice, renders in about 3 minutes and offers 4K, which Kling 4.0 does not on Flixly.
Which AI video model is best for dialogue and lip sync?▾
All four spoke our test line word for word with matching mouth movement. Seedance 2.5 felt the most like a real film scene, Kling 3.0 showed the most change of expression, Kling 4.0 was the most restrained, and Veo 3.1 gave the warmest, most ad-like take.
Which model is best for text in video?▾
Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 all spelled the neon sign "OPEN 24H" correctly in our test. Veo 3.1 rendered a broken letter, so the sign read closer to "OFEN 24H". For signs, titles or product labels, use one of the first three and check the result.
How long does each model take to make an 8-second video?▾
Measured on Flixly at 720p: Veo 3.1 took 1.3 to 2.2 minutes, Kling 3.0 about 2.8 minutes, Seedance 2.5 2.7 to 9 minutes, and Kling 4.0 3.4 to 6 minutes. Times vary with demand.
Which is the cheapest of the four?▾
Kling 3.0 costs the fewest credits per clip on Flixly, followed by Kling 4.0. Veo 3.1 and Seedance 2.5 cost more. Flixly shows the exact price for your duration and resolution before you generate.
Can I use all four models in one place?▾
Yes. Kling 4.0, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1 are all in the Flixly AI Video Generator, so you can run the same prompt on each one and switch models without retyping it.
